Our Projects

Community Focused projects and programs fulfill Noquisi Initiative's mission to preserve, protect, and promote culture and heritage in the original homelands of the Cherokee people. Support  from partners, grants, and help from devoted volunteers assure robust programs. Noquisi Initiative has several ongoing projects from establishing a Cherokee Heritage Apple Trail along the Little Tennessee River Greenway near the Noquisiyi Mound in the town of Franklin, NC to designing and placing interpretive signs at  the Junaluska Grave Site in Robbinsville, NC. Noquisi Initiative works with local school groups encouraging students to interact with their natural surroundings while  learning meaningful lessons about Cherokee culture.
